RedStar Poker Review

Red Star Poker is a medium sized poker room but due to its policies towards US players and its general marketing approach it may not stay that way for long. US players are accepted at Red Star Poker and the competition offered is relatively loose. There’s good value in short handed cash games and tourneys. US players are supposed to form a majority at the site (not a verified fact) with Scandinavians being present in reasonable numbers as well.

Red Star Poker uses the Cake network software, which means that if offers an ideal multi tabling solution for hard grinders. The multi table timer is excellent offering players enough time to make their moves but not enough to significantly slow the game down.

The graphics are realistic, you can change the color of the chips and that of the cards and you can customize your avatar too, or you can disable avatars altogether if you find them bothersome.

Cashier stats are updated instantly, so you know where you stand at all times.

Red Star Poker gets relatively high volumes of traffic and what’s even more important, most of the players at Red Star tend to be loose aggressive or loose passive, which means that just by playing good old tight aggressive poker you should be able to make nice headway. The quality of the competition is not yet spoiled by the overall tightness of European – particularly Scandinavian – players.

Red Star Poker’s first deposit bonus is on the generous side: players get a 110% match on their first deposits, up to $600. No bonus code is required, and players can unlock their bonuses by generating FPPs through real money play.

Each one of these FPPs will unlock $0.06 of your bonus, which means that you need to generate 100 FPP to unlock $6.

The bonus is released into your real money account in $10 increments.

On top of the first deposit bonus, Red Star Poker offers several other promotions to keep its players entertained and their interest levels high. The Gold Card and Gold chip promotions offer additional, creative ways for players to make money. There are at least $1,000 offered in freeroll prize-pools every week, $3 million find their way to players in the monthly guaranteed tournaments that Red Star offers.

Qualifiers to live event also run pretty much all the time, and we’re not talking about just the WSOP here. Since it’s a Russian-specific site, Red Star Poker offers seats in some of the RPT (Russian Poker Tour) events.

As far as support goes, Red Star Poker offers a comprehensive FAQ page. Otherwise, support is reachable through email or phone. A Russian toll free number is provided as well as one which can be reached from the US and Canada.
